Radiation pattern visualization and processing

Optenni Lab uses radiation pattern data for two purposes: for calculating antenna radiation properties for various operation conditions and for data visualization.

Optenni Lab supports various radiation pattern formats from leading electromagnetic simulators and 3D measurement systems. With radiation pattern data Optenni Lab can calculate exact representation of the antenna system for any combination of the original antenna data, circuitry, termination conditions and excitation vectors. In other words, the antenna total efficiency, radiation efficiency and radiation patterns can be calculated in any operation scenario without any need of additional electromagnetic simulations or measurements.

Optenni Lab can also visualize the radiation patterns in various formats:

  • Cartesian cuts
  • Polar cuts
  • 2D pseudocolor plots
  • 3D plots
  • Polar spectrogram plots

Some of the plots utilize a unique visualization of the polarization of the radiation using polarization ellipses. Such plots visualize at the same time the magnitude and the polarization of the radiated fields.
